NTE Segments 3 project in Fort Worth, Texas.
Construction of 16 highway bridges with precast concrete girders.
Bridge configurations range from 1 to 22 spans and the total deck slab area is in excess of 400,000 SF (37,000 m²).

Bridges and Roads’ work on the NTE Segments 3 project in Fort Worth, Texas, is progressing rapidly toward completion.
In Segment 3A, Phase 1 construction has been completed in the IH 820 / Mark IV Parkway area, and 4 bridges are now open to traffic.
Construction of Phase 2 has already begun. At the same time, the 3 direct connectors between IH 820 and IH 35W and the U-turn bridge at NE 28th Street are nearing completion, with most of the concrete deck slabs already poured.
On Segment 3C, substructure work on the IH 35W / SH 170 direct connectors is progressing smoothly and on schedule.
At this point, 40% of the substructure has been completed. Girders have already been installed on 8 spans of bridge 106.1 and superstructure work has started.

On May 24, 2021, Grupo Puentes received the land associated with the “Red Maule Concession”, which includes the construction and subsequent operation under concession of three hospitals located in the cities of Cauquenes, Constitución and Parral, all of them in the Maule Region of Chile.
The award of this contract, developed by the Ministry of Public Works of Chile, was obtained on March 27, 2021, being awarded to the Ibero-Asian Consortium, formed by the Spanish company Puentes y Calzadas Grupo de Empresas (“Grupo Puentes”) and its parent company China Road and Bridge Corporation (“CRBC”). This is the first project that both companies have bid jointly, having been successfully awarded the contract.
This concession contract considers the design, construction and maintenance of the infrastructure, provision, maintenance and replacement of medical equipment and non-clinical furniture of the three facilities by Sociedad Concesionaria Red Maule S.A. The Concessionaire Company will also be responsible for obtaining all the necessary economic resources to undertake the execution of the construction works and medically equip the hospitals so that the health facilities are operational.

The Atalaya project, in Panama, is progressing according to schedule

The Atalaya-Las Flores and Varadero Branch Road Rehabilitation Project is on schedule and the works are progressing smoothly despite the Covid weather. The work consists mainly of the design and construction of the rehabilitation of the Atalaya-Mariato-Quebro-Las Flores road, which is approximately 102 km long, as well as the Varadero Branch Road, which is approximately 12 km long.

This project is part of the group of works that Grupo Puentes is developing in Panama, such as the Rehabilitation of Santiago roads project (a total of 100 km of work distributed in 117 roads along 10 district roads) and the Rehabilitation of La Mesa roads (53 km distributed in 20 roads in 6 districts)

Grupo Puentes awarded the rehabilitation works of the María Cristina dam Contract for the works of the first phase of the adaptation of the María Cristina dam to the technical regulations on dam and reservoir safety TTMM Castellón de la Plana and Alcora Contract budget 14,635,821.90 € The María Cristina dam is located on the La Viuda watercourse, on a surface area of 265 hectares and with a maximum capacity of 19.59 hm³. It is a gravity arch type dam built with concrete, with a height of 59 meters and a crest length of 318 meters. Among the works contemplated are the adaptation of the surface spillway and bottom outlets, the removal of the sludge accumulated in the reservoir in the vicinity of the dam and the implementation of a system for monitoring the dam and the reservoir, among other improvements. The duration of the contract is 24 months.

Continuing with the planning, on May 3 work began on the future Montecelo hospital. The President of the Xunta presided over the institutional act to start the works. The hospital complex will have an area of almost 75,000 meters, which will house 720 beds, 60% of them in individual rooms. It will also have 162 positions in the day hospital; 117 emergency rooms and 20 operating rooms.

The new Montecelo Hospital will be executed by the UTE Copasa-Puentes y Calzadas Infraestructuras-Ogmios Proyecto S.L. and has been designed by the architects Chile 15 Arquitectos, GAU Gabinete de Arquitectura y Urbanismo.

Inauguration of the Guadalupe flyover, in Costa Rica

The overpass has been inaugurated at the intersection of Guadalupe and the new roundabout called the Bicentennial. It is a road project, consisting of a 790-meter-long underpass, four lanes in the underpass (two in each direction) and a roundabout with two lanes in each direction, bus bays, a pedestrian bridge and a crossing extended over the Torres river.

The temporary union of companies formed by Grupo Puentes, Copasa and Ogmios is the winner of the contract for the construction of the Nuevo Montecelo hospital complex, with 627 beds.

The project has a surface area of 115,179 m² built, in addition to 26,587 m² of urbanization. The hospital complex consists of 41,656 m² of underground parking spread over four underground floors.

Load test of the Teixeiras bridge

For these tests on the Teixeiras double bridge, a train consisting of a locomotive and seven ballast-loaded hopper cars with a mass of 750 tons is used.

The tests carried out are both static and dynamic, in this case at different driving speeds (between 10 and 80 km / h, as well as a braking test on the viaduct).

Inauguration of the Tordera railway bridge

The new railway bridge over the Tordera river that connects Blanes with Malgrat de Mar is inaugurated. Adif restored rail traffic on December 9. The bridge has been designed to withstand the rising waters of the Tordera River without giving up the most avant-garde design.
