The works involved construction of a landfill with a capacity of 11.5 million m3, divided into two cells: one for organic waste with a capacity of 2.8 million m3 and the other for inorganic waste of 8.7 m3 , which is more than enough to ensure removal of all non-hazardous industrial waste in the province of Zaragoza for over 25 years. The total surface occupied by the complex is over 100 ha, and it was necessary to excavate 2.7 million m3 of soil.

Apart from the landfill, the project includes a waste treatment plant, workshops, offices and a leachate plant.

The construction and entry into operation of these facilities adequately address the issue of non-hazardous industrial waste management in the province of Zaragoza, which allows the old landfills that so far have been receiving such waste to be closed.

Execution period for the project is 5 months, operation for 25 years and after-closure monitoring for 30 years.
