FEATURES
Two separate lines of actions with distinct objectives:
- Forest hydrological restoration: Its goal is to restore and stabilise the correct hydrological state of the forest masses in the upper basin of the River Águeda by means of silvicultural treatments and reforestation.
- Improvements to Biodiversity: Its goal is twofold: increase knowledge of the biology of Upper Basin of the River Águeda and "El Rebollar" Nature Park through studies, descriptions and inventories of certain ecological parameters; to improve the state of conservation of selected ecosystems in the area, through actions aimed at increasing animal population.
OBSERVATIONS
Forest hydrological restoration:
- Area of silvicultural treatments: 4,802.30 ha
- Area of reforestation: 280.50 ha
- Pasture land: 576.64 ha
Improvements to Biodiversity:
Description of local bat populations, restoration of the river fishing pools, creation of pools for black stork, installation of feeders for scavenger birds, installation of nest boxes for birds, installation and monitoring of nest platforms for black vulture, publication on the flora and fauna of "El Rebollar" Nature Park, publication on the mills on the River Águeda, restocking trout and rabbit, intervention regarding nymphs of aquatic insects and pike culling.
