Construction of complementary networks to distribute water from the Carboneras desalination plant to the entitled members of the Water Users’ Association of Níjar.
The project basically involved improvements to irrigation networks of the users’ associations in Campo de Níjar and Rambla Morales, by means of constructing 5 regulation pools, a ramified pipeline network for the distribution of water supplied by Carboneras desalination plant, including the sectors, hydrants, electricity lines, remote control system, control centre and storage.
OBSERVATIONS

- Installation of over 500 km of ductile cast and HDPE pipe network for the distribution of water supplied by the Carboneras desalination plant.
- Over 2,000 irrigation hydrants installed.
- Construction of 5 regulation pools with a total capacity of 695,000 m3.
- Installation and implementation of remote control and management system with a communication network by means of cable, WiMAX and GPRS.
- Execution of 47 electrical power lines.
- Construction of control centre and storage.
- Over 1,500 irrigating landowners and 7,000 ha of irrigated land have benefited from the works.
Execution period: 24 months.
