FEATURES
The construction of said diversion dam was of crucial importance for the process of adaptation of the River Ebro banks and the organisation of the International Exhibition ExpoAgua 2008 in Zaragoza.
In addition, the works contributed to minimise the environmental impact and regulate the river water flow when the flap gates are closed. It also serves as a footbridge connecting two city districts, which offers exceptional views over the River Ebro. Furthermore, it gives access for the emergency vehicles and those related with dam maintenance.
Another function of the dam is the stabilisation of the water surface at the level of 189.80, thus allowing various festive and sports events to be held.
